GrocerSage (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your
privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and
share information when you use the GrocerSage mobile application
and website (collectively, the “Service”).

– Email address and password when you create an account
– Household name and member information
– Grocery items, brands, and purchase quantities you enter
– Receipt photos you upload for scanning
– Store locations and aisle corrections you submit
– External vendor details you add manually

– Purchase history and frequency patterns
– Pantry stock estimates derived from your purchase history
– Device type and operating system
– App usage patterns (screens visited, features used)
– Approximate location when you scan a store (GPS coordinates)
1.3 Information from third parties
– Authentication data from Google if you sign in with Google
– Receipt data extracted by AI processing (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude)

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:
– Provide and improve the GrocerSage service
– Generate your personalised monthly grocery list
– Predict when pantry items are running low
– Calculate and display unit price comparisons across stores
– Build and maintain community store aisle maps
– Send push notifications for reorder alerts
– Process credit transactions for community contributions
– Communicate service updates and security notices
We do not use your information to:
– Sell your personal data to third parties
– Build advertising profiles for third-party ad networks
– Share your individual purchase history with brands or retailers

3. COMMUNITY DATA AND SHARING
GrocerSage is a community-powered platform. Some data you
contribute becomes part of the shared community database:
– Aisle scan submissions (store layout data)
– Item location confirmations and corrections
– Price submissions and verifications
– Stockout reports
This community data is anonymised before being shared — your
name and account details are never attached to community
contributions visible to other users.
Paid sponsor placements in community signals are always clearly
labeled as “Paid placement.” Organic community data is never
sold or influenced by sponsors.

4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS.
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level
security policies ensure users can only access their own
household data.
Receipt images are processed by AI services and are not stored
permanently after processing unless you explicitly save them.

5. DATA RETENTION
We retain your account data for as long as your account is
active. You may request deletion of your account and all
associated data at any time by contacting us at
[email protected]. Community contributions (anonymised
aisle data, price history) may be retained as part of the
community database after account deletion.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
– Access the personal data we hold about you
– Correct inaccurate data
– Request deletion of your data
– Export your data in a portable format
– Opt out of non-essential data processing
